IFCT Award for 'Best Comedic Animation' - February 2006 “Agricultural Report” continues to entertain audiences around the world and has just won the award for “Best Comedic Animation” at the International Fest of Cinema & Technology. The recent festival was a very impressive event supported by the Children's Film Society in India. Pictured above are some of the international filmmakers that attended the festival. Irish Film & Television Awards Best Animation Nomination November 2005 Agricultural Report was nominated in the category of Best Animation at this years IFTA awards in Dublin Ireland. The awards ceremony took place on Saturday 5th November at the RDS in Dublin and was televised live on RTE1 at 9.30pm. The excellent Irish language short film Cuilin Dualach, directed by Nora Twomey and produced by the Cartoon Saloon, won the category. Honourable Mention in Portugal Cine'Eco - 11th International Environmental Film & Video Festival of Serra de Estrela - October 2005 The film has recieved an Honourable Mention in the animation category at the recent festival in Portugal.

'Agricultural Report' was awarded the prize for Best Short Film at the festival and was the only animated film among the thirteen other nominees in competition. The awards ceremony took place on Saturday the 18th of June in the spectacular open air ancient Greek Theatre in the town of Taormina on the island of Sicily. Annecy International

Kinofilm Manchester International Film Festival British & International Animation Event, 12.00 - 1.30pm, Thursday 24th February 2005 Panel: Chair: Mat Archer, Visionary Film & NWPD Drawing on the films screened and guests personal experiences, the panel will discuss British animation and how it competes on the international stage; the support structures in place to help British animators; support structures outside of the UK and what more can be done to push British animation further onto a global market. Digital Media Awards - 2nd February 2005 Agricultural Report received the award for 'Creativity - 3D Animation' at the awards ceremony which was held in Dublin, Ireland. Niamh O'Donoghue, Associate Producer on the film, accepted the award. 32nd Annual Annie Awards - 30th January 2004 Pixar's 'The Incredibles' swept the awards in every category in which it was nominated at a great ceremony in the Alex Theatre in Glendale, California. Fortunately for all concerned Pixar was not competing in the shorts category. The honour of Best Short went to Mike Gabriel's film 'Lorenzo' inspired by Disney animation veteran Joe Grant and produced by Walt Disney Animation. Digital Media Award Nomination - 14th January 2005 Agricultural Report has been nominated for a Digital Media Award in the category of Creativity - 3D Animation. The awards ceremony takes place in Dublin, Ireland on the 2nd of February. Annie Award Nomination - 6th December 2004 Press Release Irish animation company Barley Films has been nominated for an Annie Award for the short film “Agricultural Report.” The film was nominated in the category of “Best Animated Short Subject” by ASIFA-Hollywood, The International Animated Film Society. The awards ceremony will take place in the historic Alex Theatre in Glendale California on 30th January 2005. The film was produced under the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/Irish Film Board Short Shorts scheme which aims to produce ultra short, eye-catching films which can be used to promote Irish film-making by being released in cinemas before full length features. The short has already been on nationwide release with Morgan Spurlock’s award winning documentary Super Size Me. It has also screened in festivals in Ireland, Sweden, Portugal, Northern Ireland, Iran and Italy. The other nominees in the category for “Best Animated Short Subject” are: It’s The Cat! – Mark Kausler This is the second time that Barley Films has been nominated in this category. The company was founded in 2002 and received a nomination at the 2003 Annie Awards for the short animated film “Boys Night Out” directed by Teddy Newton & Bert Klein.
